An interview with Ismael Heredia

Ismael Heredia Granados, a 29 year old player from Malaga. He is a central with great aerial play, excellent off the ball and brings security to the defense.

  • How old were you when you started playing football?

I was 6 years old.

  • In which team did you start playing?

I started in futsal, in the school where I studied. “Los Olivos” school.

  • What do you like the most about the club’s project?

The ambition to improve in all aspects, but always keeping the feet on the ground.

  • Which position do you feel most comfortable in?

At centre-back.

  •  Which of the players in the squad has surprised you the most?

Aside from Javi López, who I already knew, the player who surprised me the most was Dani.

  • Which of the players in the squad do you feel the most affinity with?

The one I bonded the most with was Gato, as we used to travel together. Also, with Dani and Miguel, for our positions on the field. But the truth is that I get on very well with everyone; we were like a family last year and there was a very relaxed atmosphere in the dressing room.

  • What do you hope for next season?

On a group level I would like to maintain a family atmosphere in the dressing room and of course, to reach the goals we have set.

On an individual level, I would simply like to enjoy this beautiful category.

  • Which game from last season would you choose from last season? Personally and as a team.

I would choose the match in Marbella. For our performance and especially because of the way we played.

  • Which player has been your idol or reference?

Puyol and Sergio Ramos.

  • Who is the best player you have faced?

Suso.

  • Do you have any ritual before the matches?

I go onto the field jumping sideways.

  • Do you have any hobbies?

I have many, but most of them don’t go together with football… like Padel, Enduro, Snow etc.
